For email validation during onboarding, Bluem offers an optional pre-authentication step: Soft Email Validation. Before sending an OTP, Bluem evaluates the email address using multiple signals:
Syntax, domain and mail-server checks
Technical indicators that the mailbox may exist
Historical signals showing how long the address has been in use
Checks against lawfully accessible data-exposure sources
Fuzzy matching between the email address and the user’s known name
Typically, more than 50% of onboarding sessions can be accepted through Soft Email Validation. This creates a smoother journey for trusted users while maintaining active verification whenever confidence is insufficient.
